Be the Change

February 6, 2008

Don’t get yourself tired by searching for perfection in people, cause you won’t find it, but [in other hand] searching for self development, and pursuit perfection is considered noble target.

You should consider your body as a hardware, which always need maintenance and developing, plus consider your mind as software which always need updating, and fixing bugs.

If you thought you will achieve development as you grow up normally, you are wrong, you need to seek and work on yourself to achieve what you want.

While I go out, I get shocked from youth of my age, by how do they spend their free time, they take out the chairs to set on the side walk, smoking Arkeela [Bubble hubble], sharing files and videos !! with their cell phones.

It’s summer, and people like to have fun, it’s ok, but the scene, repeat itself every day, from sunset to sun dawn, playing with cards and smoking, nearly 7 hours daily.

They are from my age, from my generation, but I don’t how do they have all that time, yes I’m not working, and yes I’m in my summer vacation, not so busy, but I couldn’t have the chance to set 7 hours at once !!.

My 1st word on Internet

December 2, 2007

Of Course, each one has a 1st word in his life, maybe it’s Mama, Baba, Dada, Unfortunately my parents didn’t kept an Audio or Video record for my 1st word in my life, cause back then (1985~1988) it was not common to have a video camera in Syrian families.

Anyway, my post today is not about your 1st word in your life, it’s about your 1st word on internet, I think most of us remember how he logged in to the internet for the 1st time, opening that white page (google) and typing his 1st word for search.

I still remember when I bought my 1st pc, it’s a historical day for me, I had my 1st personal computer @ 28-5-2001 after I finished my 10th grad final exam, it was my 1st year in high school.

It has Windows millennium, 700 MHz pc processors Celeron, 40 GB had disk, and 16 mega voodoo 3dfx video card, with 128 ram, Canon s400 printer and standard scanner, that was the best in the market “Syrian market”.

I sat on my pc @ 8 pm and started surfing through windows, I don’t know what icons means back then, all what I know that when I raised my head to see the clock it was 8 am, and I had to call technical support to come and fix what I messed J.

Now, the 1st time I entered the internet in my home was 2002, I don’t remember the details, but I remember I was holding 3M chocolate bar,”famous Syrian product”.

What is your 1st word on google.com?.

I will be honest, the 1st word I typed in google was “S-E-X”, I didn’t care about the word itself as much as I wanted to see what the hell my friends were talking about “google’s power”.

My 2nd word was my name in Arabic!!, imagine, from all these billions of words on internet, I chosen my name, weird, ha?.

When I had a talking dictionary, I wanted to try some words to test this dictionary, I typed “FU()_K”, and wow, he pronounce it, really good, with machine voice, lol, I think the dictionary who pronounce these words is much extensive than those which ignores these words, like Encarta.

My friend, once told me, that most males do this, it’s our nature to search these words in dictionaries and search engines, plus each 10 minutes the male think even for 1 sec in sex, he said, If we wanted to count on females call, we will never have human race.

Of course most of us, search for these words in a nature of curiosity, and most of us judge on the dictionary or the search engine, by seeing his results.

My 3rd and 4th words were, Aleppo my city, Syria, my Beloved country.

There is an Arabic version of this post, visit it, read it, Enjoy.
